Hobart goes beyond just the manufacture of quality filler metals. We are committed to collaborating with our end users and sharing our industry expertise in ways that help improve the business of welding. Our goal is to work with companies to find the right filler metal solution to address their welding challenges. Improving quality, increasing productivity and reducing costs is a top priority at Hobart.
Our company has long standing roots in the Troy community, having been incorporated here in 1971 by Charles Clarence (C.C.) Hobart, along with his wife, Lou Ella, and their three sons, Edward, Charles, and William. Since then, Hobart has evolved from the manufacturing of products ranging from generators (Dynamos), air compressors and welders to our core focus on filler metals including solid wires, tubular wires and stick electrodes. We offer products for welding materials from carbon steel to stainless steel and aluminum, as well as high-strength steels. We are proud that our filler metals have helped create welds on some of the most dynamic and interesting applications across the globe.
Hobart was family-owned and operated until its acquisitino by Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in 1996. ITW is a multinational manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short-lead-time industrial products and equipment, and is also the parent company of Miller Electric Mfg. Co.
In May 2013, we consolidated four of our previous filler metal brands (Tri-Mark, McKay, and MAXAL) under the Hobart brand in order to simplify our filler metal offering and provide a full product line to distributors and end users.
