Fun Fact: Edison State’s first graduating class only had one student, Gregory Simmons. Since then they have come a long way and still are making a great impact in our society today.

Edison State Community College started back in 1973 in Piqua, Ohio. Right now, there are more than 3,000 students who are currently enrolled at Edison State between their two locations; Piqua and Greenville. Whether its students who are college-credit plus, right out of high school, or those going back to school, Edison has a wide range of students who attend.

Earlier this spring, Edison had announced they would be planning to add a career center to the main campus in Piqua. Along with that Edison has announced earlier this week that they are planning to open a new location in TROY! This location will be located near the Kroger Marketplace on West Market Street in Troy, where Miami-Jacobs Career College previously was.

Everything is still in the early stages of the process and classes are still being discussed. Right now they are sure that Allied Health Services will be one of the focuses at this location, and that classes will start forming this fall.

Many things are in store for Edison with this new location opening soon and for the Troy area as well.
